Sexuality
All women should be sexy. You want your man to be turned on by you and sex is an important part of a relationship. A relationship can always be spiced up. Don’t forget that. But, it is the woman’s job to make an effort to be sexy. You should be well-groomed and wearing clothes that excite your man.

Sense of humor
Everyone loves funny people. Laughter is appreciated in every culture. All men want a woman who can make them laugh. For some people, laughter is the key to their heart.

Sincerity
No one wants to date a person who isn’t genuine. Let’s face it, fake people are terrible. When men imagine marrying a woman, they want her to be sincere and caring. They imagine her being the mother of their child, not a fake and cold person.

Clever Dating Advice on What to Eat on a Date

First date food choices are tricky. At least I think so. I’m a very picky and boring eater, so restaurants with interesting menus don’t appeal to me. Put a piece of grilled chicken on a plate with some sautéed veggies, and I’m happy. This week my Matchmaker mom gave me the task of coming up with a menu of what not to eat on a first date. I gave it some thought and came up with 4 top choices.

Food #1: Salad

Rule #1 of dating – don’t ever order a salad. There are very few guys that like to date a girl with eating issues, and ordering a salad as your meal sends the wrong signals. My dating coach says that men are attracted to women who like to eat, and I agree. An appetite is sexy. A guy wouldn’t ask you to join him for dinner if he wanted to watch you order something extremely healthy. When your date reflects on your time together, you don’t want him to remember you as “the girl who ordered a salad.”

Food #2: Spaghetti

I personally love pasta. I think it’s delicious and a safe choice price wise. You don’t want to order something too expensive, and pasta is usually priced just right. However, there’s a big difference between pasta and spaghetti. Pasta, such as penne, can be eaten politely and perhaps with some sex appeal. Spaghetti on the other hand, makes a mess regardless of how you eat it. Even if you use a spoon to twirl the spaghetti, it can still splatter all over you. You want to turn your date on, not have him think you’re a slob.

Food #3: Chicken Wings

Recently, barbecue restaurants have become pretty popular. I’m not sure how many first dates would end up at a barbecue restaurant, but just in case, stay away from the chicken wings. You might think it’s sexy to eat with your hands and get all messy, but it’s not. No guy wants to look at a girl with sauce all over her face, unless of course it’s his “special sauce.”

Food #4: Spinach and leafy greens

On a date it’s wise to stay away from all greens. Greens are in the same category as beans. Eat them by yourself or with a girlfriend, but don’t ever order them on a date. Spinach in particular is tricky because it can get stuck in your teeth. Nothing would be more embarrassing than to have food stuck in your teeth on a first date. When you flash your signature smile, you want your date to see your pearly whites, not a chunk of spinach. After all, you don’t want to be known as the girl who had food stuck in her teeth all night.

Dating Advice: Things I Can Live Without

This section of Janis Spindel’s dating advice course was really hard for me because I don’t like to give anything up. The top 3 things I can live without are: taking taxi’s, going out to dinner during the week, and seeing movies in theaters. In an effort to make a social budget for myself, I had to cut back on some costs to allow money for my new beauty budget. If I only take taxi’s Friday and Saturday nights, go out to dinner only on the weekends, and stop seeing movies in the theater, I will save a lot of money! This course is all about prioritizing, and lets face it, it is much more important to make sure my hair and nails look great than to take a cab. The subway is a great place to meet people – and with my hair and nails in perfect shape I’m sure to feel very approachable.

Go First Class
Fly first class, or at the very least, business class. It’s not that you can’t meet a guy in coach; it’s just more likely that you’ll meet others and feel more comfortable talking to your neighbors in first or business class. Both are smaller than the coach sections. And the seats are smaller so you’re not in an uncomfortable position—flirting can be difficult when there is physical discomfort. The first class section can also feel much more romantic.

Super Shopping
Large pet and sporting goods super stores are great places to meet single men. These stores are everywhere! Many people go to these stores just for the sake of going—don’t hesitate to ask advice from other male customers. Large home centers may also attract single men, but these kinds of stores are more of a draw for families.

Opening Nights
Opening nights or the beginning of anything in the arts—gallery shows, opera, plays, concerts, or the ballet—attract tons of people including single men, not just gay men. Many men attend them to impress their boss or simply because they are cultured. These events offer the best excuse to get dressed up and look your very best. These occasions are also very festive and people are likely to be excited and chatty during intermission. Work your magic!
I hate when women tell me they read a book while riding the subway, bus, or train! If you have your nose in a book he cannot see you and you certainly can’t see him. Jump-start your commute by looking around for who’s on board. Mr. Right might very well be right next to you, but if you’re buried in your reading you will never know!

Your Cell
When I see a woman walking down the street on their cell phone, it drives me mad. I understand the temptation to use it, but you cannot make eye contact or pull off a great pick up line while you’re gabbing away. Break the habit of talking while walking down the street. If you aren’t paying attention to what’s going on, your potential future mate will not pay attention to you!

It’s become very popular for galleries that are clustered in a single area of town to have Thursday or Friday night gallery walks once a month and sometimes more frequently. Wine is served, the artists are nearby to take questions and chat with visitors, and there’s a general aura in the air. It has become a great way for you to meet neighbors.

Sailing
Sail away! Sailing, yachting, and fishing are activities that specifically attract a lot of male interest. Many marinas and yachting clubs offer sailing lessons. You don’t have to live near the shoreline to partake—many landlocked started with large lakes have docks and boat clubs. Sign up for sailing lessons, or go on a chartered fishing trip with a friend or by yourself if you’re brave. The atmosphere of sailing makes it easy to start conversations with other participants.

Café Dating

If you’re in a good mood, and you can talk a few girlfriends into going with you, it might be fun.
